The Xihu Foreign Affairs Cruise Company operates a fleet of Chinese-style medium-sized barges, known as the series of barges on West Lake. With their clean and bright design and antique appearance, these barges offer a feeling of ‘the boat floats on water, and the person walks in the painting’ while appreciating the beautiful scenery of West Lake. They are classic and aesthetically pleasing, capable of hosting large domestic and international tourist groups, and have received high praise from a wide range of tourists.

‘The phoenix calls and the dragon roars, the long day of the fallen flowers, the sound of the fairy drunk.’ The Foreign Affairs Cruise owns a pair of dragon and phoenix bronze barges, personally created by the master carver Zhu Bingren. Legend has it that West Lake was originally a pearl that fell from the sky, with one dragon and one phoenix playing in the lake, symbolizing the auspiciousness of the dragon and phoenix playing with a pearl. The dragon and phoenix barges, with golden tops, are suitable for small meetings and private wedding charters, and are the vessels used by the Foreign Affairs Department to receive distinguished guests from home and abroad each year.

‘In August, osmanthus flowers bloom everywhere, and the blooming of osmanthus brings happiness.’ The Foreign Affairs Cruise has three boats named after the city flower of Hangzhou, osmanthus, which are ‘Golden Osmanthus’, ‘Silver Osmanthus’, and ‘Jade Osmanthus’. These are double-decker luxury barges with beautiful shapes and smooth lines, suitable for receiving large domestic and international group tours. Operating hours are from 03/01 to 10/31, 09:00-21:30; from 11/01 to 02/28, 09:30-16:00. Specific times are subject to the actual situation at the pier.
