The wooden sluice site of the Nanyue Kingdom is located on the negative first floor of Guangming Plaza between Xihu Road and Huifu East Road in Guangzhou, China. It is the wooden sluice site with an earlier age, larger scale and relatively complete preservation found in the world at present. Now the entire negative first floor of the plaza is opened as a site museum. The sluice is fully enclosed with reinforced concrete walls, and then preserved at a constant temperature and humidity by a 700-square-meter glass protective layer for people to visit. There is a cultural relic display corridor around it, which shows the excavation process and unearthed cultural relics of the site in various ways such as pictures, texts and three-dimensional animations. Since the sluice is of all-wood structure, the protection of wood is particularly important. Special preservatives are used to carry out anti-corrosion and insect-proof treatment for the sluice wood. Two pumping wells are also drilled around the sluice. When the local groundwater reaches a certain height, it will be automatically pumped away to prevent water from seeping into the sluice. Opening hours: From January 1st to December 31st, Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 18:00; From January 1st to December 31st, Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 – 18:00.
