The National Stadium is adjacent to the ‘Water Cube’ and the National Convention Center. Due to the different requirements for space height of competition venues and stadiums, the National Stadium is inspired by the Chinese ‘folding fan’. It adopts a wave-like shape from south to north, and the roof is light and full of dynamics. This wave-like shape also cleverly connects the flat-topped ‘Water Cube’ and the single-curved National Convention Center corresponding to the north and south, making the urban landscape in the Olympic Park coordinated and unified.
The steel roof truss of the National Stadium is 144 meters long from north to south and 114 meters wide from east to west. The entire steel roof truss project of the stadium is composed of 14 trusses. The shape of the steel roof truss is a fan-shaped wave curve. It is currently a two-way tensioned steel roof truss structure system with a large spatial span in China. The specific business status of the opening hours is subject to the opening situation on the day.National Stadium
