Yandungjiao is a picturesque fishing village located in Lidao Town, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, China. It is nestled against the mountains and by the sea, offering breathtaking views. To the southeast of the village stands a small hill known as Gusan, on top of which a beacon was constructed during the Ming Dynasty. This beacon was used to light smoke signals to warn of Japanese invaders, hence the name Yandungjiao.
Time has transformed the village, and now the south of the village boasts a vibrant boat traffic on the mottled stone beach, with clear blue waters lapping at the shore. On either side of the bay, there are pristine streams that continuously bring fresh water into the sea. From November to March each year, thousands of wild swans migrate from distant Siberia to spend their winter here. These swans coexist harmoniously with the villagers, adding a splendid view to the beach and infusing the beautiful bay with boundless vitality. Due to the villagers’ conscious efforts in bird protection, the swans have developed a strong bond with them. This harmonious coexistence between humans and swans has attracted professional photographers and amateur photography enthusiasts alike. Yandungjiao is open to visitors all year round, with full-day access.Yandungjiao – A Scenic Fishing Village in Weihai, Shandong
