The new Dalian Shell Museum is located on the northwest side of Xinghai Square, adjacent to the century-old city sculpture. Its exterior resembles a massive shell, and the interior design is distinctive. The exhibition hall features a spiraling 800-meter ramp that ascends along the building, giving visitors the sensation of being inside a conch shell.

The museum displays over 8,000 species and 50,000 specimens of shells, as well as more than 3,000 specimens of ammonite fossils.

Opening hours are from 09:00 to 16:30 all year round.
