The Han Hou Temple is located approximately 200 meters east of Zhenhuai Tower in Chuzhou District. The temple faces south and has a width of about 23 meters and a length of about 130 meters. Inside the hall, there is an altar with curtains and Buddhist niches, where a seated statue of Han Xin is placed, exuding a strong and heroic aura. Han Xin was an outstanding military strategist during the late Qin and early Han dynasties in China. He assisted Liu Bang in defeating the Qin and Chu states, securing the realm, and establishing the Han dynasty. He was successively enfeoffed as the King of Qi and the King of Chu, and is known as one of the ‘Three Heroes of the Rise of Han’ along with Xiao He and Zhang Liang. He was later murdered by Empress Lü. Han Xin was born in ‘Han Wang Village’, eight miles west of the ancient Huaiyin County. In his youth, he lived in the official alley of Huaiyin’s old city, which is now the location of Huaiyin County Matou Town People’s Hospital. It is said that there was originally a brick gate tower in the official alley, with the inscription ‘Han Hou’s Hometown’ on the lintel. To the west of the alley, there are steps leading directly to Zhang Fu River, and to the east, there is a stone archway inscribed with ‘Ancient Chu Huaiyin’. The stone tablet inscribed with ‘Ancient Chu Huaiyin’ that once stood in the town was later moved to Huai’an Prefecture by someone who took an interest in it. The existing Han Xin Fishing Platform in Han Xin’s hometown is where Han Xin fished as a young man, and the historical fact of ‘The Drifting Mother Feeding Xin’ took place here. On the site of the fishing platform, there stands a stone tablet inscribed with ‘Ancient Han Xin Fishing Platform’, centuries-old slabs, and octagonal stone drums for visitors to admire.
