Dongzhou Park is located in the middle of Haimen City and is the main public resting place in Haimen urban area. The total planned area of Dongzhou Park is 124.82 mu, including 94.22 mu of green space and 12.84 mu of water surface. The whole park is divided into five areas: children’s activity area, elderly activity area, sightseeing and resting area, flower and bonsai production area, and park management area. ‘Dongzhou Park’ is the green lung of Haimen. It is like an emerald inlaid in the center of the city. The facilities in the park are complete. On both sides of the main road are flowers, plants and trees. Butterfly flowers fly in the flowers like beautiful butterflies. The lawn is green, like a Chinese painting rendered only with green. The verdant branches of willows sway gracefully on the lake surface. ‘The slender willows are as high as a tree, and ten thousand branches hang down like green silk ribbons.’ In early winter, the willows are no less beautiful than in spring. They dance like young girls and are lovable like delicate hands. Walking by the lake, one can see that on the green lotus leaves is a cluster of brilliant red. The small and crystal-clear water lilies are exquisite works of art carved by nature. Truly, ’emerging from the mud without being stained, washing in clear waves without being seductive.’ There is a small bridge over the river. The leaves of the creeper on the side of the bridge have completely turned into a warm red and brown. The extremely thin roots are firmly attached to the wall and crisscross. Several leaves are flying, spinning and falling, and along with the clear water flow, they flow to the distance. Open all year round and open all day.
