Located in Building 3 of the Shanghai International Industrial Design Center, the China Industrial Design Museum is a museum themed around industrial design. It showcases the past, present, and future of industrial design, collecting related design anecdotes and literature. Currently, it displays over 700 products and memoirs from veteran designers, presenting the characteristics and development trajectory of Chinese industrial design from various perspectives.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:30-17:00 all year round; closed all day on Mondays; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day from 09:30-17:00.
Preferential policies include: Children under 1.3m (inclusive) accompanied by adults enter for free; Seniors aged 70 and above (inclusive) with a senior citizen card or ID enter for free; Children of people’s police and public security martyrs (with relevant documents) enter for free; Disabled persons (with a disability certificate) enter for free; Active and retired military personnel (with relevant documents) enter for free; Martyrs’ dependents and dependents of soldiers who died in the line of duty (with relevant documents) enter for free.
