Taihu Fairyland Island is located within Yuantouzhu, an isolated island that can only be accessed by boat. The island features Taoist palaces and cave sculptures of both Taoist and Buddhist deities. The 18-meter-high statue of the Jade Emperor in the Taoist court is particularly striking. Climbing the small hill on the island allows for a panoramic view of the surroundings, and on clear days, one can see the graceful reflections of boats on the lake, experiencing the vast beauty of Taihu Lake. Taihu Fairyland Island is divided into scenic areas such as Dongtian Fudi and Tiandu Xianfu. There is an ancient and solemn bridge with connected pavilions, Huixian Bridge, and to the north of the bridge lies Xiya Mountain, part of the Dongtian Fudi scenic area, where a meticulously carved ‘Taihu Fairyland Island’ archway stands. There are areas dedicated to monkeys, including Huaguo Mountain, Shancun Cave, and a performance venue, adorned with scenes reminiscent of the famous classical novel ‘Journey to the West’, such as ‘The Birth of the Divine Monkey’, ‘Qitian Dasheng’s Banner’, and ‘Huaguo Mountain Stele’. The main peak is Tiandu Xianfu, which houses Tianmen Tianjie, Tiandu Xianfu, Yao Wang, Wen Wang, Cai Shen Dian, Lingxiao Baoge, Pan Tao Yaochi, Yue Lao Ci, and Taiyi Tiantan. The Tianjie street is lined with shops in a traditional style. The carved doors and windows in the shapes of peaches, pomegranates, and gourds are exquisite and varied. The main building of Tiandu Xianfu has three stories and five eaves, with a hip roof, standing 22 meters high, and contains temples dedicated to Wenchang, Guan Yu, and Mazu, with a corridor for the sixty-year cycle of Chinese astrology on both sides. Lingxiao Palace is a seven-story, four-cornered building, 38 meters high, with a statue of the Jade Emperor. Dajue Bay and Xianrendo gather the essence of Chinese Buddhist and Taoist cave art. There are also many other attractions such as the Altar of Heaven, Yue Lao Ci, and Yuanyang Pavilion. The opening hours are from Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00, and on weekends, 08:00-16:30, subject to the actual operating status of the day.
