Dong Hua Qiangzi Street is located in the old city area of Jinan, starting from the west entrance of Gu Lu Ba Zi Street in the north, ending at the north entrance of Ma Shi Street in the south, adjacent to Qu Shui Ting Street in the east, and Xihuan Qiangzi Street in the west. Originally, this street was the wall of the government school, which was brick-built with patterned designs, commonly known as the flower wall, hence the name from its location outside the eastern flower wall.
In the past, during the Confucius worship ceremonies, the government temple was filled with smoke from incense, and the bells and drums rang in unison, with people from all walks of life coming to pay their respects. Dong Hua Qiangzi Street, neighboring the government temple, was bustling with various businesses, with calls of vendors rising and falling, and visitors could head south to stroll through Furong Street or north along Qu Shui Ting Street to visit Daming Lake. Therefore, Dong Hua Qiangzi Street was always busy and crowded with people.As time has passed, Dong Hua Qiangzi Street now boasts smooth and clean roads. The residential buildings on the eastern side of the street have been newly painted, with white walls and blue tiles, giving off a quaint and traditional atmosphere. The wall of the government temple on the western side of the street remains a flower wall, and through it, one can see the majestic and splendid architecture of the government temple complex, with its upturned eaves, carved arches, green tiles, and red ridges, all exquisitely beautiful.
The Pan Pool’s clear waves ripple, with a five-hole white jade stone bridge lying across the blue waves. Dong Hua Qiangzi Street, along with nearby Furong Street, Qi Feng Bridge Street, Wang Fu Chi Street, and Qu Shui Ting Street, has become part of the historical and cultural landscape belt of the city due to its unique historical and cultural connotations, and it is a popular cultural attraction.
