Aolai Peak is located on the west road of Mount Tai. Walking 2 kilometers northwest from Wuji Temple leads to Tiansheng Stockade. It was the site of the Chimei Army in the late Western Han Dynasty. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the mountain terrain is precipitous. There is a stone cave on the north cliff. The inscription on the lintel reads ‘Jade Emperor Cave’. The cave can be used to observe the sky from three places and is also known as Santoutian.
In front of the cave, there are still foundation stones of houses, flag-raising stones, pillar sockets, and stone mortars. To the southwest is a horse racing field, and to the northwest is a drill ground. In the north mountain col, there are three caves. One of them has the inscription ‘Xianyang Cave’. At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, the monk Tonghui Xingquan built a thatched cottage here and it was once a place for female Taoists to practice. Open all year round and open all day. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.Aolai Peak
