The story of Dayu is familiar to people in Jinan. According to ancient books, Dayu lost his mother in his childhood. His stepmother and younger brother tricked Dayu into digging a well and then dropped stones on him. Fortunately, Dayu escaped from the karst cave under the well. As a result, a sweet spring was discovered, which is called Shun Spring, that is, Shun Well. In official history, Shun Spring was generally referred to under Mount Li in the early stage. In the Tang Dynasty, it was clearly stated that it was here. In the Song Dynasty, it was commonly known as ‘Shun Spring’, and there was Ouyang Xiu’s ‘Poem on Shun Spring’, which was written and erected as a stele by Su Shi. At the wellhead of Shun Well on the west side of the middle section of Shunjing Street hangs an iron chain. According to legend, Dayu subdued a flood dragon and locked it in the well when he controlled the flood. It will be released when the iron tree blooms. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the opening situation on that day.Shunjing Street
