Quancheng Park is located in the central part of Jinan urban area. It was completed in September 1989 and opened to the public free of charge in September 1997. Originally known as Jinan Botanical Garden, it was renamed Quancheng Park on September 22, 2006. The total area of the park is 46.7 hectares, and the green space rate reaches 81.7%. The whole park is divided into three major exhibition areas: the outdoor plant exhibition area, the greenhouse plant exhibition area and the introduction and domestication area.
It is a multi-functional urban comprehensive park integrating plant scientific research, popular science and leisure and entertainment. The outdoor plant exhibition area is divided into the angiosperm area and the gymnosperm area. There are more than 400 species of plants from 95 families and about 200,000 plants, distributed in 13 specialized gardens such as Magnolia Garden, Cherry and Peach Blossom Garden, Peony Garden, Rose Garden, Lilac Garden, Bamboo Garden, Pine and Cypress Garden, and scenic spots such as Japanese Garden, Ecological Square and Water World. The ornamental greenhouse is located on the west side of the park. It is a glass building composed of three right triangular frames connected together, with an area of 2648.2 square meters. It is divided into tropical plant exhibition room, warm temperate plant exhibition room and sandy and succulent plant exhibition room. The introduction and domestication area covers an area of 1.3 hectares and is responsible for the domestication and breeding tasks of newly introduced plants. It includes three production greenhouses with a total area of 1300 square meters, a shade shed of 1200 square meters, and a cold room with an area of 200 square meters.
