The ancient city of Jizhou was built in the Han Dynasty and has a history of more than 2,000 years. It was once the fiefdom of princes and marquises, vassal states, and the seat of prefectures, counties, and districts. The ruins extend from southwest to northeast, with a total length of 4,500 meters. The highest point is 10 meters. The widths at the bottom and top are 30 meters and 10 meters respectively, with a distribution area of 2.25 million square meters. In 2013, the ancient city ruins of Jizhou were rated as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
The park has an overall layout of ‘one axis, one belt, two rings and six areas’, and is divided into six cultural exhibition areas: the beginning of Kyushu, the beginning of the morning breeze, the galaxy of the Han Dynasty, the famous capital of Heshuo, the rising of Luze, and the past of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It integrates functions such as the display of ancient city wall ruins, the interpretation of historical culture, and popular science education. It is divided into multiple areas such as the north entrance area, the archaeological research and study experience area, the exhibition area of famous people of all ages, the boating area of the moat wetland, and the south entrance area.
