The Ancient Hot Spring, located at the southeast of Wulongtan, is named for its high water temperature and long history.
During the cold winter, while the surroundings are covered in ice and snow, the spring pool is full of steaming heat, earning the praise of poet Yan Bi: “Taizhen particularly loves to bathe in Huaqing, how can it compare to the moist and warm Lixia City.” Originally outside the right side of No. 105 Dongliushui Street, it is now situated to the north of the former site of the Shandong Provincial Leadership Organs in Wulongtan Park, Jinan.
The Jinan Garden Department has successively connected this spring with its adjacent springs, Jing Shui Spring and Xi Xin Spring, expanding into an 18-meter long and 8-meter wide spring pool, collectively known as “Ancient Hot Spring.” A water corridor and two pavilions have been built above the spring, making it the main attraction in the southern part of Wulongtan Park.
