Gongjtai Park, historically known as Xuanwu Terrace, was originally constructed in the early Song Dynasty. Standing at a height of 6 meters, the terrace once housed the Jinhuai Pavilion. Surrounding the terrace are the Zhaoyang Academy, Quzi Temple, Lvbo Pavilion, and Haiguang Tower. From a distance, one can admire the well-arranged pavilions and towers amidst lush greenery and the fragrance of flowers, accompanied by the melodious chirping of birds.
Throughout history, many literary figures have composed poetry and prose here, leaving behind numerous masterpieces. Among them, Kong Shangren, the author of the famous play ‘The Peach Blossom Fan,’ stands out. He lived in the Haiguang Tower for an extended period and wrote the renowned drama ‘The Peach Blossom Fan.’
The park’s opening hours and business status are subject to the daily operational conditions.
