Kui Xing Pavilion, also known as Kui Tower, is located at the southeast corner of Gaoyou City and is one of the few provincial-level cultural relics protection units in Gaoyou, also referred to as ‘Kui Xing Tower’ or ‘Kui Tower’. It was originally constructed in the third year of the Tianqi era during the Ming Dynasty (1623).

Built on the city wall, Kui Xing Pavilion is a three-story, octagonal structure made of brick and wood, standing at a height of 20 meters. The first level features a door on the north side, while the second and third levels have doors on all four sides. Each level of the pavilion’s top board is adorned with colorful paintings, depicting dragons, phoenixes, or bats, symbolizing auspiciousness and happiness.

Upon ascending the tower, one can enjoy an expansive view, with the beautiful scenery of Gaoyou laid out before the eyes. Visiting the tower for sightseeing was a favored pastime for the literati of ancient Gaoyou.

Surrounding the Kui Xing Pavilion, there are many famous trees, including an ancient pine tree that is over 500 years old, with its gnarled branches and vigorous posture. The pavilion is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
