This is the place where Ye Shengtao, a renowned literary figure, educator, publisher, and social activist, once worked. After Ye’s passing, the people of Luzhi, to express their reverence and remembrance, rebuilt several sites where Ye once taught and established the Ye Shengtao Memorial Hall. Ye Shengtao had a profound affection for Luzhi, creating numerous novels with Luzhi as the backdrop, such as ‘Cold Xiao Knows the Qin Song’, ‘Collected Three to Five Bushels More’, ‘Tall Ginkgo Tree’, and so on. Ye Shengtao likened Luzhi to the ‘cradle’ that nurtured his growth, and in his will, he requested to be buried in Luzhi, his ‘second hometown’.
