Jinling Women’s University is symmetrically laid out along an east-west axis. The entrance is enhanced by an avenue of trees to strengthen the sense of depth in space. The main buildings are centered around a large lawn, arranged symmetrically. Behind Building 100, a garden is designed with an artificial lake as its focal point. The west end of the central axis culminates at the peak of a hill (West Hill) with a Chinese-style pavilion.
The architectural style adopts traditional Chinese palace architecture, and the buildings are connected by classical Chinese-style colonnades, forming an Eastern architectural complex that blends Chinese and Western elements. It is known as the ‘Beautiful Campus of the East’. Today, Jinling Women’s University has become part of Nanjing Normal University’s campus. It is open all year round and accessible 24/7, but not open to the public.Former Jinling University Site (Gulou Campus)
