Yuyuan Garden is a garden-style park established in memory of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi, offering a pleasant environment. It features a white marble statue of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi, a statue depicting hands holding a newborn baby, and a memorial hall showcasing her life through photographs. Located on Fuxing Road in Gulangyu Island, the garden spans an area of 5700 square meters with flower beds lining both sides of the paths, planted with chrysanthemums, jasmine, and hibiscus, welcoming visitors.

There is a platform covering 1000 square meters, paved with granite slabs. The white marble statue of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi stands on the right side of the platform, opposite of which is the exhibition hall displaying some of her personal belongings, writings, and over a hundred photographs of her social activities and work life, along with other valuable materials. Dr. Lin Qiaozhi was born into a teacher’s family in Gulangyu Island; she was a highly moral and skilled doctor, personally delivering over 50,000 babies and treating countless gynecological patients throughout her life, while remaining unmarried.

This tranquil garden is a tribute to Dr. Lin Qiaozhi. The character ‘Yu’ in Yuyuan signifies nurturing and upbringing, hence the park is named Yuyuan, reflecting the deep respect from her hometown. Nearby, you can also visit the Haoyue Garden. The garden is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific operating conditions subject to daily availability.
