Guta Park is located in the southeast of Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is named after a Ming Dynasty Shifang Zhufo Pagoda built in 1538. The park covers an area of 557,000 square meters and mainly has four scenic areas: the west gate area, the central lake area, the mountain flower park area and the ancient tower area. The central lake area is the main scenic area, named Colorful Spring Garden. There are landscapes such as the Flower King Terrace, Begonia Square, pavilion and corridor combination, and Pingquan cascade.
The park is widely planted with flowers and trees. There are more than 200 varieties of flowers, providing a good place for nearby residents to relax and entertain. Entering from the west gate of the park, you can see the ‘Chinese Dragon Inkstone’ in the glass room on the north side of the park. It is about 13.1 meters long and about 3.6 meters wide. It is exquisitely carved from the unique purple and emerald stone in Zhongnanshan, Yixian County, Hebei Province. The central inkstone pool is the territory of the People’s Republic of China. The 56 divine dragons symbolizing 56 ethnic groups surround three inkstone pools, with profound meaning. Walking into the park and heading east, on the central axis facing the archway of ‘Guanyin Zen Temple’, there stands a bronze statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva stands on the lotus throne, holding a pure vase and sprinkling nectar down to save all living beings. In the woods on the east side of Guta Park, there is a children’s playground, which is a paradise for children.
