The Beijing Vintage Car Museum has more than one hundred collections. It is a display of national brands, technologies, arts, the automotive industry, and transportation history. Some collections are scarce or out-of-print brands domestically and even internationally, and can be called rare collections. It records the development history of China’s automotive industry and the development history of the world’s automobiles.

The so-called ‘vintage car’ refers to an old car that was used in the early days and can still work. ‘Vintage car’ is the Chinese translation of ‘Classic Car’. Literally, it should be ‘classic old car’, but the term ‘vintage car’ is full of strong anthropomorphic colors, making people have unlimited reverie and expectations for such cars. Representative works of the automotive industry in the early days of the founding of New China include: the ‘Dongfanghong’ brand sedan produced by BAIC and the first-generation 210 military off-road vehicle; the ‘Shanghai’ brand review car produced by SAIC, the first-generation Shanghai ‘Phoenix’ brand sedan, Shanghai 58-I and other Shanghai automobile series; the ‘Red Flag’ brand review car produced by FAW, the first-generation ‘Red Flag’ brand sedan, and Red Flag car series.

Foreign collections include classic models such as Cadillac from the United States, Mercedes-Benz from Germany, Citroen from France, Morris from the United Kingdom, and ZIS from the Soviet Union.
