The Yan Huang Art Museum is located in Huizhong Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, adjacent to landmarks such as the ‘Bird’s Nest’, ‘Water Cube’, and ‘National Convention Center’. It is a large-scale public-private partnership art museum founded by the art master Huang Zhou, initiated by the renowned painter Mr. Huang Zhou, with the joint efforts of a group of well-known painters, appraisers, and collectors from home and abroad.
As one of Beijing’s iconic cultural facilities and artistic buildings, the museum began construction in 1986 and officially opened to the public on September 28, 1991. The museum covers an area of 28 acres, with a total construction area of 12,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 3,300 square meters. It includes three floors of exhibition halls, a multifunctional hall, a painting storage room, an art studio, and an art shop. The museum’s architecture is innovative, and its facilities are state-of-the-art, embodying both national character and a sense of the times. The Yan Huang Art Museum primarily collects contemporary Chinese paintings, as well as ancient Chinese calligraphy and paintings, cultural relics, and in recent years, has also collected hundreds of pieces of colored pottery, pottery figurines, and folk art. The museum focuses on the collection, research, and display of contemporary Chinese paintings, while also paying attention to the collection and research of ancient Chinese calligraphy, cultural relics, and other art works.
