The main stadium boasts a capacity of ten thousand spectators and is equipped with over 9,000 seats. Additionally, 2,000 folding chairs can be temporarily added within the venue to accommodate larger events. The sixth East Asian Games were hosted at the Tianjin Sports Center in 2013, marking a significant milestone in its history.

On November 24, 2018, the Tianjin Sports Center was recognized for its architectural significance and was selected for the third batch of China’s ’20th Century Architectural Heritage Project’ list. This honor underscores the importance of the center not only as a sports venue but also as a cultural landmark.

The center is open all year round, offering full-day access to the public. This makes it an accessible and vibrant hub for sports and recreational activities throughout the year.
