The Samaranch Memorial Hall is located in the Tuanbo New City in Jinghai on the south side of Tianjin. It is a special exhibition hall dedicated to commemorating the life of former International Olympic Committee president Samaranch and promoting the Olympic spirit. It opened on the third anniversary of Samaranch’s death. The Samaranch Memorial Hall is in the shape of two connected circular rings. It has a large area and many cultural relics in the collection.


It takes about four hours to view it in a circle. Inside the memorial hall, through a large number of books, stamps, souvenirs, paintings, letters related to him, photos, personal items, precious documents related to the Olympics, etc. collected by Mr. Samaranch, as well as many sculptures and wax figure restorations, etc., it meticulously shows Mr. Samaranch’s life story, as well as the Olympic spirit and stories in the history of the Olympics.


There is free interpretation service in the museum, which can be visited and understood one by one through exhibitions and interpretations. There is also a special souvenir shop in the museum, where you can go and choose your favorite Olympic souvenirs.



Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday all year round from 09:00 to 16:30; Closed all day on Monday all year round; Open from 09:00 to 16:30 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.


Preferential policies: Children: Free for those under 1.2 meters in height.


Elderly: Free for those over 70 years old (inclusive) with senior citizen certificate; Preferential for those aged 60 (inclusive) to 70 (exclusive) with senior citizen certificate.


Disabled: Free with disability certificate.


Military personnel: Active-duty military personnel are free with proof of identity documents.
