The Fengshan Yaowang Ancient Temple tourist scenic area in Tianjin is located within the boundary of Wangcun in the southwest of Dasi Town, Xiqing District. The scenic area is composed of two main attractions (Fengshan Yaowang Ancient Temple and Music Fountain Fitness Square), covering a total area of more than 100 mu. The ancient temple is also commonly known as Fengshan Yaowang Temple and Fengwo Temple.
It was built in the second year of Yongchun in the Tang Dynasty (683 AD). This ancient Yaowang Temple has risen and fallen several times and has gone through more than 1,300 years. Since the Ming Dynasty, there have been seven major renovations. In recent decades, especially after experiencing the Cultural Revolution, the buildings of the Yaowang Temple were gradually destroyed, and even the original earthen platform was basically flattened. Since the early 1990s, the temple platform has been re-padded. In 2000, a new Fengshan Yaowang Ancient Temple appeared at the original site. The ancient temple was originally built to commemorate Sun Simiao, the king of medicine. Later, with the evolution of history, it became a Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian temple with the integration of three religions. For thousands of years, especially during the temple fair (from April 20th to 28th in the lunar calendar), people flock here like a tide. People gather here from all directions. The long history and culture make the ‘Fengshan Yaowang Ancient Temple’ unique. It integrates folk culture, medical culture, historical culture and religious culture, showing in front of people the sages and ancestors of ancient China and the medical sages who have made outstanding contributions to the Chinese nation, and interpreting the glorious course of the development and progress of the Chinese nation with scientific spirit. At the same time, the temple is an ancient building complex with a large scale and unique features in Tianjin. The Music Fountain Fitness Square in the Fengshan Yaowang Ancient Temple tourist scenic area covers an area of 35 mu and has a construction area of 6,000 square meters. When night falls, 3,200 colorful lanterns shoot water columns into the sky under the action of high-pressure water pumps along with beautiful music melodies. It is very spectacular. Thousands of tourists sing and dance along with beautiful music melodies, making the cultural life of tourist groups and ordinary people rich and colorful. Opening hours: Monday – Sunday: 8:30 – 17:00; Closed to the public on Monday afternoon.Must Read
