Lv Zu Hall, also known as the Yihetuan Memorial Hall, is a Taoist temple from the Qing Dynasty dedicated to the worship of Lu Dongbin. The hall is named after the ‘Pure Yang Lu Zu’ Lu Dongbin and covers an area of 3000 square meters, which includes the mountain gate, the front hall, and the back hall.
In the 26th year of the Guangxu Emperor (1900 AD), during the rise of the Boxer Rebellion, the renowned leader of the Boxers, Cao Futian, set up his headquarters here, making it the center of Boxer activities at that time. The famous battles of the Purple Bamboo Forest and the Old Dragon Head, along with the entire defense plan of Tianjin, were all formulated here.
In 1985, after restoration, it was established as the ‘Tianjin Yihetuan Memorial Hall’ and designated as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Opening hours: Open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
