The Yuanbaoshi is located in the Panshan Scenic Area of Jixian County. It can be regarded as the treasure of Panshan. This huge rock has been eroded by wind and rain over time and has formed a shape that is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, just like a silver ingot, hence its name. There is an inscription on the gemstone that reads ‘Here are lofty mountains, strange rocks and wondrous pines.

‘ This was left by a juren named Ning Chun from ancient Miyun. When he came to Panshan, he was attracted by its unique landscape. So he quoted the sentence ‘Here are lofty mountains, luxuriant forests and tall bamboos’ from the ‘Lanting Xu’ by Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher of the Jin Dynasty. He thought that the sentence ‘Here are lofty mountains, luxuriant forests and tall bamboos’ could not describe Panshan, so he changed it to ‘Here are lofty mountains, strange rocks and wondrous pines’.

On the lower right is the stone inscription left by Mr. Fu Zengxiang. He visited Panshan three times and wrote the second volume of ‘Special Issue on Visiting Panshan’, providing strong evidence for studying the history of Panshan. Climbing up the steps and looking back at the Yuanbaoshi again, it becomes even more vivid.
