Twin Hills, located in the southeast of the park, covers an area of 300,000 square meters with the highest point of the mountain reaching 48 meters. It is the first hollow structure artificial natural mountain in China with a height exceeding 40 meters.
As the ‘green highland’ of Shanghai’s urban area, Twin Hills is designed with ‘landscape mountain-making’ as its starting point. The mountain is planted with more than 7,000 trees, meeting the urban landscape needs of ‘full arbor shrub coverage’, forming a rich ‘natural landform’ landscape area. It fully considers the continuity and integration of the mountain with the entire park, using the form of earth-covered architecture and the landscape technique of stacking mountains and managing water to restore the natural wilderness of mountain forests and streams, showcasing the style of urban mountain forests.
There are winding paths set in the mountains, available for citizens to walk, rest, climb and enjoy the distant views. The interior of the mountain adopts a hollow structure, setting up functional facilities such as parking garages and substations, and connecting with the outside. Through the landscape-connected ecological space, it forms a ‘smell the fragrance, appreciate the greenery, and the scenery changes with each step’ effect, painting a livable picture of ‘mountains in the city, water in the mountains, and people in the scenery’.
Opening hours: The park is open all year round from 08:00 to 18:30.
Preferential policy for children: Children under 1.0m in height do not need to make a reservation, must be accompanied by an adult, and are not allowed to climb the mountain alone; free of charge.
