On September 26, 2024, the ‘Hongya Cave – Jiulong Ferry’ route was officially launched, spanning approximately 12 kilometers with a sailing duration of 40 to 80 minutes. This route connects the Yuzhong Peninsula, embraced by the two rivers of Chongqing, with the Jiulong Peninsula, rich in artistic atmosphere, hence the name ‘Banxia Ferry’. As the cruise ship crosses the confluence of the two rivers and slowly ascends along the Yangtze River, it not only passes by unique sightseeing spots such as the Yangtze River Cableway, Huguang Guild Hall, Nanbin Road, Shacunba, Jiulong Binjiang Park, and the Naval 166 Ship, but also allows for a close-up view of the distinctive elegance of six cross-river bridges. These attractions and characteristic buildings, scattered like pearls along the banks of the Yangtze River, add endless charm to the ‘Hongya Cave – Jiulong Ferry’ route. The Banxia Ferry route is colored ‘Time Blue’, symbolizing art and innovation. It serves as a cultural and artistic river experience route between the Yuzhong Peninsula and the Jiulong Peninsula, from Hongya Cave to the Chongqing Jianchuan Maritime Museum. Here, one can see the Naval 166 Ship docked on the Yangtze River and embark on the Jiulong Peninsula, a fertile ground for artistic innovation. Time Blue is also the main color of the upgraded ‘Chongqing Ferry’ brand, expressing the brand’s philosophy of upholding tradition and continuous innovation. The ferry operates all year round from 10:00 to 13:00; during the National Day holiday, it operates from 09:30 to 13:30.
