Puli Distillery is located in Puli Town, Nantou County and is one of the two major sightseeing distilleries under the local tobacco and alcohol joint-stock company. After multiple rounds of research and development, the distillery has utilized the natural spring water from Puli Ailan to trial the production of Shaoxing wine. By 1952, the production of Shaoxing wine was successful, and from 1966, the distillery stopped producing lower-grade wines to focus exclusively on Shaoxing wine, mass-producing and promoting it. They have developed and produced distinctive Shaoxing brand wines such as ‘Daughter Red’, creating a ‘Hometown of Shaoxing Wine’ and telling the ‘Story of Shaoxing Wine’.

The distillery is open all year round from Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00; and on weekends, Saturday to Sunday, 09:00-17:30.

At the exit of the Wine Culture Museum, there stands a Shaoxing Wine Pot Waterfall, which is a complete wine pot left from the earthquake. In recent years, Puli Distillery has developed a variety of foods using Shaoxing wine, including Shaoxing ice pops, Shaoxing rice cakes, Shaoxing marinated flavors, Shaoxing tea eggs, and the ‘Everlasting Egg’, which are all distinctive and have become one of the popular tourist routes in the area.
