Jiaming Lake is located on the southeast side of Sancha Mountain. It is the second highest alpine lake in Taiwan after Cuichi of Snow Mountain, with an altitude of 3310 meters. Jiaming Lake is an oval-shaped lake. Due to its blue water color like a gem, it is known as the ‘tears of an angel’. Surprisingly, there is no mountain stream or brook flowing into Jiaming Lake in this area, but the lake water is inexhaustible all year round. There are many theories about its formation, but there is still no unanimous conclusion. Open all year round, 24 hours a day.
