Along the Huangpu River in Shanghai, there are two riverside parks, Qiantan and Post-Beach, both located in Pudong, known as the ‘greenest riverbank of the eastern Pu River’. The site was formerly the steel mill’s old location, originally the Pudong Steel Group and Post-Beach Ship Repair Factory. The park was built and opened to the public in 2010.
December 17, 2021, was a sunny day, and my wife and I visited Post-Beach Park. We left home after 9 a.m., walked to the Lotus Supermarket to ride a shared bike, took the Line 6 subway for 4 stops to Gaokao West Road, transferred to Line 7 for 4 stops to Post-Beach Park. Arriving at Gate 3 by 10 a.m., by the river, the wind was a bit strong. We rode a shared bike inside the park. The park is also known as the Sports Park, mainly for citizens to walk and cycle. There is a section along the Huangpu River, and along the north side, a small river unfolds a wetland landscape. We first cycled on the riverbank cycling path, basking in the sun. At 10:25 a.m., we got off the bike and walked along a water-friendly footpath, a small river with wooden boardwalks for walking, and large areas of rapeseed planted along the roadside. Across the river, there are cedar trees, and we watched birds flying in the sky. The park extends south to the World Expo Avenue, east to the World Expo Park, covering an area of about 14 hectares.We encountered several groups of young people who seemed to be organizing activities for their companies while cycling, running, and walking fast.
