The 27-hole international standard golf course is designed by Phil Ryan, a world master and designer from the Pacific coast of Australia. The introduced tropical Bermuda grass turf is laid on 300 millimeters of fine sand. It is delicate and soft, and the rapid drainage system is sufficient to handle heavy downpours. During the deep winter when Bermuda grass enters hibernation, the course will continuously sow cold-resistant grass seeds to decorate a patch of greenery in winter for golfers. Tianma Country Club is located in the central area of Sheshan National Tourist Resort. It has convenient transportation. It only takes 30 minutes by car from Hongqiao Airport via A9 National Road and then A30 to the club. The fairways are located among mountain scenery and are divided into three independent courses with distinct characteristics. They are respectively called Old Course, Tianma Course, and New Course. The total length of the fairways is 10,538 yards, and the par is 108. The Tianma Course is built along the mountain. Playing here, one can fully experience the feeling of the forest nearby. The nearby mountains and the mature trees on the fairway are interspersed. Looking from afar, it really feels like being in a national forest tourist area. The Old Course can be said to be the most difficult and challenging course among the three courses. Named Old Course, in addition to its historical significance, it is hoped that it will become a representative course of the club like the old course of the British Open. The fairways are lined with green trees, and the lake scenery and mountains complement each other. A crucial shot from the tee or green is by no means easy. The 7,801-yard-long New Course is the finally completed fairway. This is a whole new challenge. Seven of the nine holes in the New Course have water. In terms of landscape design, it is a kind of interest; technically, it is a kind of challenge, waiting for masters to come. The unique island-area golf clubhouse is designed inspired by traditional Chinese garden style. Surrounded by sparkling lakes, it has an excellent view. Through the pure lake, one can overlook the greens of the ninth hole and the eighteenth hole. In the Californian-style building, a warm, intimate, and harmonious modern family-style golf and country club is created.
