The Yingyi Anting Golf Club is meticulously planned by the world-renowned design master Robert Trent Jones II. It is an 18-hole standard PGA course. The overall planning of the course is wild and grand, supplemented by bold and undulating fairway curves, breaking the monotony and dullness of the flat terrain in Anting area. In terms of setting up fairways, greens, and obstacles, Robert Trent Jones Jr., with his rich experience and unique design concept, based on the original topography, lakes, and guided by the ideology of making full use of nature and returning to nature, has added a certain degree of difficulty on a reasonable and ingenious basis, making the course full of challenges and aftertastes, yet still maintaining fairness and reflecting the spirit of golf. Both fairways and greens have the iconic devilish curves of Robert Trent Jones’ courses, which are smooth, delicate, and harmonious. The undulating terrain is already very pleasing to the eye just by looking at it, and there is an impulse that makes people can’t wait to show their skills. On the sandy foundation of more than 30 centimeters, the Yingyi Anting Golf Club uses the Tif-sports grass seed specially developed for championship courses in the United States. The grass is fine and dense, and the movement of the clubhead at the moment of ball contact is very smooth. Robert Trent Jones uses the wonderful combination of water and bunkers. In addition to creating beautiful visual effects, it also constitutes the main obstacle of the course. The combination of each hole is different. The shape, size, and direction of each bunker are very exquisite. They are matched with water obstacles to jointly form a challenge for golfers. If bunkers and water are tangible and fixed obstacles, then wind is an intangible and erratic killer. The magnitude, direction, and speed of the wind are erratic with different seasons and time differences, thus also requiring corresponding changes in golfers’ playing strategies. The brilliance of the designer lies in skillfully using this characteristic of the wind to make the entire course seem unchanged on the surface, but in fact it is full of hidden mysteries and ever-changing, becoming a ‘living course’.
