At the beginning of the port opening, a gravel road was built in the section east of Henan Road and was called Beimen Road and Beimen Street. Later, it was extended westward. The section from Henan Road to Fujian Road was named Baoshan Street; the section from Fujian Road to Zhejiang Road was named Dongzhengfeng Street. In 1862, Dongzhengfeng Street was extended westward to the section of Xizang Road and was named Xizang Zhengfeng Street. In 1865, the Municipal Council renamed the entire road as Guangdong Road, commonly known as Fifth Avenue. In 1925, from Central Zhejiang Road to Central Xizang Road, it was changed to asphalt surface treatment. By 1935, from the Bund to the section of Hubei Road today, the road width was widened to 12 meters. The opening hours are subject to the opening status on the day.
