The Taiping Bridge was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1771 (the 36th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty). It is a single-arch stone arch bridge. The bridge is engraved with lotus pedestal patterns. Vines grow in the stone cracks of the bridge body and it is very photogenic. The Japanese female painter Hashimoto Xinqian’s ‘One Day in Zhouzhuang’ depicts the Taiping Bridge and she also painted herself in it.

Standing on Nanshi Street opposite the Taiping Bridge, you can bring the Taiping Bridge at the T-junction of the North and South Shijing River and the Hougang River, as well as the waterside families with bamboo fences and potted plants at the end of the Taiping Bridge into the camera. The photos taken are very flavorful. The cruise ships passing in front of the bridge and through the bridge opening are also good materials for photography.

The Taiping Bridge is not far from the Twin Bridges. If you choose a good angle, you can also take a panoramic photo including the Twin Bridges.

Open all year round and open all day.
