Our child had been eager to visit Shanghai Disney for a long time, but with our busy schedules, the trip kept getting postponed. Finally, in mid-October, both my spouse and I had a vacation overlap, and we decided to make up for the missed opportunity by taking our child on a trip, with Shanghai Disney as the obvious destination.

Traveling from Hangzhou by high-speed train, we quickly reached Shanghai and found our way to Disney with ease. Our child was thrilled to play in the park, and seeing their joy brought immense happiness to us as well. However, we lost track of time and only remembered that we hadn’t secured a place to rest when it was already late. With plans to visit other places the next day, we hastily searched online and discovered Di Ya Ju Boutique Homestay, which was conveniently located near our intended destinations for the following day and had excellent reviews for its comfortable and quiet environment and thoughtful service.

After booking our stay at Di Ya Ju, our child was exhausted, and it was already 9 PM when we left Disney, preparing to hail a taxi. That’s when we received a call from Di Ya Ju’s staff, offering to pick us up—a service that warmed our hearts. In no time, a staff member arrived, assisted us with our luggage, and provided attentive service all the way to our room before discreetly leaving.

Our child had fallen asleep, so my spouse and I took the opportunity to freshen up.It was then that I took a closer look at the room. The decor was simple yet elegant, with tasteful patterns adorning the walls, creating a warm and unpretentious atmosphere. The bed was soft and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and tidy, and the quietness of the place was a welcome break from the city’s hustle and bustle. There was a corner in the room dedicated to children’s play, which our child particularly enjoyed, slightly delaying our departure the next day.

Around 11 PM, our child woke up hungry, reminding us that we had been so engrossed in Disney that we had neglected dinner. Assuming we would have to eat out at such a late hour, we were pleasantly surprised when the hostess of Di Ya Ju offered to cook us a hearty late-night meal, leaving us both embarrassed and deeply touched.

The next day, we took our child to the wildlife park and returned to Di Ya Ju in the afternoon. Originally planning to head home on the third day, my spouse suggested extending our stay for another day, given the rare opportunity for relaxation and fun, a proposal I immediately agreed to. Arriving back at Di Ya Ju early, we strolled around the garden to find many guests already barbecuing. It turned out that such activities were encouraged within the homestay! Perhaps it was the collective mindset of seeking relaxation and enjoyment, but the guests warmly invited us to join them. The staff at Di Ya Ju provided us with all the necessary barbecue equipment and helped create a lively atmosphere, making the event feel like a family gathering where everyone was warmly integrated. On the third day of our trip, we ventured out to discover the enchanting beauty of Shanghai. As the day drew to a close and the evening shadows lengthened, we started to make preparations for our journey back home. Our hostess at Di Ya Ju, having been informed of our departure during the barbecue feast, had already begun to orchestrate a farewell that was both surprising and attentive.

Towards the end of our outdoor adventures, the mistress of Di Ya Ju reached out to confirm our whereabouts and arranged for her staff to bring our luggage, which had been safely stored at their premises. This gesture was a delightful surprise, as among the myriad of hotels and homestays in Shanghai, Di Ya Ju stands out as one of the select few that provides complimentary luggage delivery services.

Diya Residence Boutique Homestay is nestled at Building 4, No. 28 Luda Road, Chuansha Xinzhen, Pudong New District, Shanghai.
