Located in the Guangfu Road area of the current Hebei District, a lane known as Ang Jili Hutong is still preserved, which is now the Angel Li Boutique Street in the Italian-style district. This lane dates back to 1921 and was funded by the warlord Zhao Guangyu. Unlike traditional Chinese courtyard houses, the architectural style here is distinctly Italian. The details of these buildings exhibit characteristics of the Renaissance, with clear scale relationships, stable and harmonious proportions, and orderly transitions. It is a typical example of a ‘European-style alley, exotic hutong’. Walking through it, one can fully enjoy the aesthetic of Italian architecture. It is open to the public all year round, with accessibility available at all times.
