I was captivated by the charm of Anlu Hotel in Zhujiajiao and Lanting Anlu. The experience was one of tranquility, where I could fall asleep each night to the gentle breezes of Jiangnan, and wake up to a traditional Shanghai breakfast. Engaging in activities such as Tai Chi and calligraphy allowed me to cultivate my moral character.
The culinary experience at the hotel was delightful. Lunch and dinner were crafted with seasonal ingredients, focusing on traditional Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisines. The presentation and taste were both very pleasing. The afternoon tea was a highlight, with an artistically arranged setting and a unique Chinese-style display of desserts that brought joy.
In the rainy Jiangnan, surrounded by the carved beams and painted rafters of the window ledges and pavilions, and the ancient allure of Ming Dynasty Huizhou architecture, this journey was a soul-soothing retreat. A visit to Anlu Hotel promises a perfect holiday.
