I am thrilled to share with you the essence of my new tour, “Killing Time.” This theme resonates deeply with me, as it encapsulates a fresh perspective on life that I’ve come to embrace after overcoming numerous challenges. “Killing Time” is not just the title track of my seventh personal creation album, released this year, but also a song that holds a special place in my heart, written two years ago and still very much relevant today. I’ve chosen to open the album and name the tour after it, as it reflects the core of my message.
Contrary to popular belief, ‘killing time’ is not a derogatory term in my view. We are all killing time, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Every experience is an experience, and life’s tolerance is vast. We can thrive without conforming to others’ expectations. Life is like a piece of paper; you can draw, write, or even tear it up. And remember, you always have more blank sheets to work with. The quality of the drawing matters less than the joy you find in creating it. Isn’t life all about seeking and experiencing what you love?

Regarding the tour content, with a wealth of songs under my belt, the 90-minute performance slot is a limitation in sharing the entirety of my seven albums. I plan to include tracks from the new album, along with some of the world-renowned songs that you all wish to hear. Additionally, I aim to vary the setlist from city to city, ensuring that each concert offers a unique experience.

The songs in the new album are basically only performed in full during the tour of the year of release, and each live performance is very rare. This album includes my first self-arranged and produced track ‘Shell,’ the second song ‘You Should Think of Me Most on Sleepless Nights,’ the third song ‘My Child,’ and ‘Killing Time,’ which is my first recording in the studio with guitar accompaniment and simultaneous recording. These four songs are my first ‘complete works.’ From lyrics and composition to arrangement and production, I decided everything by myself. I am very proud of this and even more grateful for creation. It has made me stronger and let me know that I should seek within. In addition to production, this album also has some new attitudes written in 2024. One is about raising oneself ‘My Child,’ and the other is ‘I Want to Sleep,’ an expression of wanting to stay away from the source of pain. Creation is an interesting thing. Recording and sharing, meeting like-minded people is enough. Meeting bosom friends is the driving force for me to continuously share. This has never changed from the beginning to the end. I have never announced the tour setlist in advance before. The reason is simple: I don’t want to ruin the sense of surprise. Performing the same setlist at every stop would not only be boring, but it would also mean that some songs, aside from the fixed classics, wouldn’t get a chance to be performed. However, since everyone is asking, I’ll provide a rough outline.
The picture shows the songs that will be sung on this year’s tour, but it’s not exhaustive. Songs not listed don’t mean they won’t be sung. There is no final setlist because even I don’t know what it is yet. This time, some songs are prepared for everyone to choose between two at the scene. I am looking forward to this link. Some songs that are not sung in one city may be sung at the next stop. Who knows? After all, I want to sing them all.
