Bian Wannian’s Former Residence

Bian Wannian’s Former Residence is the former home of Bian Wannian, the son of Bian Baimei, a banker and a physician at Peking Union Medical College, located at No. 57 Yunnan Road, Heping District, Tianjin. The residence covers an area of approximately 900 square meters, with a narrow and elongated courtyard, gable walls facing the street, and the main building is a two-story villa with a brick and wood structure.

The architectural plan is rectangular, with a facade of sulfur缸 brick and clear water wall, a large slope red tile roof on the top, and square and round doors and windows. The interior is decorated with wooden floors and fireplaces, making it a European-style house with British residential characteristics. The former residence is now a cultural relics protection unit in Tianjin and a key protected historical architectural style building.

It is an important part of the modern architectural complex of the Five Avenues in Tianjin and is currently used as office space. It is open all year round, with the exterior accessible all day, and is currently in use for office purposes.
