Dingguang Buddha Relic Pagoda

The Dingguang Buddha Relic Pagoda is located on the main peak of Panshan Mountain in Jixian County, north of Tianjin City – the summit of Guayue Peak, with an altitude of more than 860 meters. The pagoda was built in the Tang Dynasty and renovated in the Liao and Ming Dynasties. In 1985, it underwent large-scale renovation. The Dingguang Buddha Relic Pagoda points to the sky loftily and can be seen within a hundred miles, becoming a landmark of the Panshan Scenic Area.

The pagoda body is in a three-level octagonal shape and is composed of a platform base, a pagoda body, a corona wheel and a pagoda finial. Under the eaves of the middle layer of the pagoda, there are three Buddhist niches embedded on each side. Inside the pagoda, there are 60 Buddhist relics and one Buddha tooth. On the peak wall beside the pagoda are carved cliff inscriptions such as ‘Five feet from the sky’ and ‘Overlooking all the mountains are small’.

Open all year round and open all day.
