Located at the southeast corner of Jiefang North Road and Dalian Road, there stands a two-story mixed-structure building, which is the once renowned Jardine Matheson Building.
Jardine Matheson was one of the earliest foreign firms in Tianjin and also one of the largest at that time. The original Jardine Matheson Building was constructed in 1921 with a rectangular floor plan and symmetrical layout. Featuring a triangular pediment on the central roof of the facade, uniform square windows, and a protruding near-arc-shaped balcony on the second floor, the architectural style is simple, stable, and solemn.
