The former residence of the Sun family is a brick and wood structure, a two-story building. It covers an area of 3700 square meters with a total construction area of 2628 square meters, consisting of a main building and a secondary building. The entrance features stone steps and is adorned with four Ionic stone columns. The main building is a two-story Western-style building with a partial basement, mixed structure, multi-sloped roof, and an enclosed corridor around it. The right secondary building serves as the guard and servant’s quarters, and the connected part of the main and secondary buildings is the children’s room. The decoration of the residence is luxurious, harmonious in color, and simple and elegant. At the main entrance of the main building, there are four Ionic columns, and the second floor features a colonnade with rectangular, circular, and scallop-shaped dormer windows. A decorative pavilion is designed in the middle of the ridge, reflecting a simple and elegant European eclectic architectural style.

The residence is now used by the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Family Planning and is listed as a cultural heritage site in Tianjin. It is open all year round and is located at the site of the Tianjin Heating Office and the Tianjin Family Planning Commission, only allowing exterior viewing.
