During the epidemic, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town in Shanghai became a place for my ‘travel sustenance’. This leisurely, charming, and delicious water town is truly the light of Shanghai. As a typical Jiangnan water town, it boasts crisscrossing rivers both inside and outside the ancient town, allowing one to experience a slow-paced cruise.

Though the ancient town is not large, it has quite a few places worth visiting, with many charms hidden in every corner. Often, people come to Zhujiajiao for a one-day tour, but the pace here is very slow, making it suitable to stay for a few nights and experience it wholeheartedly.

In particular, many bars have been opened here. Designers have given full play to their imagination, making the alleys of the ancient town more in line with the times and decorated with the charm of Lijiang, Yunnan. This is also the reason why I am deeply attracted to stay here for a period of time to daze, drink coffee, and bask in the sun.

Standing on the Tai’an Bridge, outside the alley, the entire Zhujiajiao Ancient Town with its white walls and black tiles and the artistic conception of misty rain are all within my sight. It is truly beautiful.
