The Jizhou Confucian Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty. It is a county-level cultural relic protection unit. It is located on the west side of Gulou North Street in the county town. It is an ancient building complex adjacent to the Luban Temple on the east and west, centered on the Dule Temple and taking Wuding Street as the central axis. It covers an area of more than 2,000 square meters, and its specification belongs to the prefectural level.
The entire building is composed of two courtyards, one after the other. There are Lingxing Gate, Dengying Bridge, Pan Pool, Dacheng Gate (or Chengji Gate), east and west side halls, east veranda, west veranda, Dacheng Hall, etc. There have been many renovations in past dynasties. From the five emperors of Kangxi to Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, they respectively inscribed plaques such as ‘Eternal Model for Teachers’, ‘Never Before in the History of Mankind’, ‘Participating with Heaven and Earth’, ‘The Great Compendium of Sages’, and ‘The Sage in Harmony with the Times’. It was extremely prosperous. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies: Military personnel: Active-duty soldiers, fire and rescue personnel, demobilized and transferred soldiers, disabled soldiers and preferential care recipients who enjoy regular pensions and subsidies from the state. With soldiers’ certificates, demobilized and transferred soldiers’ certificates, officers’ certificates, disabled soldiers’ certificates and preferential care certificates, admission is free. Elderly: Elderly people aged 70 and above can enter for free with their senior citizen cards or valid identity documents such as ID cards. Disabled people: Disabled people with the ‘People’s Republic of China Disability Certificate’ can enter for free. Children: Children under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.2 meters in height (inclusive) can enter for free. Students: Minors aged 6 to 18 years old (inclusive), full-time undergraduate and below students can enter at half price with their student ID cards. Elderly people aged 60 to 70 years old (exclusive) can enter at half price with their senior citizen cards.
