Lihua Building is located at No. 114 Jiefang North Road, Heping District, Tianjin, and was constructed between 1936 and 1938. It was funded by Li Yapu, designed and built by French architects, and serves as an office and apartment building. It is also one of the earlier high-rise buildings with modern functionality and technology in Tianjin. The building covers an area of 6193 square meters, with the main building consisting of ten floors and a height of 43 meters.
The plan is convex-shaped, forming a square courtyard with the east and west wings. The ground floor of the main building houses a lobby, business hall, and manager’s office, while the second to eighth floors are complete apartments. The ninth floor is Li Yapu’s residence. The entire structure contrasts between solid and void, combining square and circular elements, with exquisite interior decoration. It is now the location of the Tianjin Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China and is open all year round, 24 hours a day.Lihua Building
