The Malanhua Theater is located within the China Welfare Institute Children’s Art Theater, nestled between the tranquil Huashan Road and Changle Road. It covers an area of 1080 square meters with a construction area of 2880 square meters. The China Welfare Institute Children’s Art Theater was founded on April 10, 1947, in Shanghai and is a professional children’s drama performance group with a history of 55 years. The Malanhua Theater has two auditoriums. One has 460 seats and a two-story audience hall with boxes on the second floor for various children’s plays. The other is a 120-seat parent-child space for drama performances. The rehearsal hall will perform a variety of fairy tales, children’s musicals, puppet shows, and puppetry shows in the form of weekly performances on weekends and invite domestic and international children’s theater troupes to perform for child audiences and their parents.
