‘Sometimes all the feelings for a city may very likely be just because of one person.’ On March 17, 2007, I went to Shanghai because of Zhai Zhai, my only beloved boyfriend! He bought a book titled ‘Take the Subway and Tour Shanghai’. When we went to Phoenix together, we had planned to go to Shanghai and look for a corner of the prosperous city described in the book. Of course, he also accompanied me to see Shanghai for the first time! (When I graduated from college, I did a ‘city selection question’ for myself. I excluded Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Ningbo. Finally, I chose Hangzhou because I like Hangzhou. After meeting Zhai Zhai, I feel even more precious about Hangzhou.)

In March, on the trip to Shanghai, accompanied by him, I feel that this time is not only happiness! All the travel arrangements are from Zhai Zhai’s thoughts. In the afternoon of the 17th, we arrived at Shanghai Railway Station and took Line 1 to Shanghai People’s Square and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street for a stroll. After dinner, we strolled on the Waibaidu Bridge and softly hummed the theme song in ‘Romance in the Rain’. That day we stayed in Room 311, the celebrity room of Pujiang Hotel. This was once the room where Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao stayed. The decoration style of the entire Pujiang Hotel makes me feel immersed in the long river of history. Retro Shanghai. The first electric light and the first telephone were both born in this Pujiang Hotel… I seem to be in this historical scroll, swimming for a long time… The night view of The Bund is really charming. A gentle spring breeze is blowing head-on. The two of us stand by the Huangpu River to enjoy the scenery. Other people who are enjoying the scenery are looking at us elsewhere. ‘The bright moon adorns our windows, and we adorn someone else’s dream.’ The night of Pujiang Hotel is very charming, the dream is very sweet, the story is very beautiful, and the scene is very beautiful. Our conversation is also very beautiful, as if a thin layer of gauze curtain is embedded…

The next day, we woke up from a sweet dream. After breakfast, we went to the 88th floor of Jinmao Tower for sightseeing. At the 340-meter-high post office, we sent each other postcards with our mood and feelings. What I thought of in the elevator was the scene in the Korean drama ‘MY GIRL’, where the male lead and the female lead take the elevator. In my heart, I am silently chanting ‘3344520’, which means I love you forever and ever! After touring the City God Temple, we ate classic dishes at Green Wave Corridor. During lunchtime, the restaurant was full of customers. While waiting for the dishes, we sang a self-composed song: ‘Our dishes, why haven’t they come up yet? Until now, we are still waiting sincerely…’ (Haha, adapted from the lyrics of ‘Our Love’ and sung). In the afternoon, we arrived at Xintiandi. We looked and strolled from one store to another. Finally, we chose a place called ‘coffee bean and tea leaf’ and had afternoon tea, cappuccino and tiramisu… We also took a group photo at the old post office in Xintiandi and made a postcard by ourselves and wrote down blessings for our parents. Zhai Zhai and I visited the business circle of Xujiahui… Although our feet are sore and tired from walking, smiles still hang on our faces… Happy smiles… We took the bullet train at 7:12 in the evening… We sighed that children born now are really happy. In the future, such trains will definitely become popular and gradually replace the green-skinned slow trains…

We took the bullet train at 7:12 pm. We sighed that children born nowadays are really fortunate. In the future, such trains will definitely become popular and gradually replace the slow green trains.
